The event was held within the framework of the Memorandum on establishing friendship relations between the administration of Motovilikhinsky District of Perm and the Administration of Sovetsky District of Minsk. This is the first time for the city of Perm to establish such ties between the districts.

As part of the celebration of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus, class hours were held at School No. 127 throughout February, and on 12 March students organized a creative festival "Belorussian Spring". The schoolchildren performed songs, dances, recited poems about Belarus, attended the exhibition of children's drawings, introduced participants to national costumes and traditional dishes they had cooked together with their parents.

"While preparing for the festival, we got to know the culture of Belarus better. We were once again convinced that our traditions and culture are very similar, but have their own national peculiarities," said Aleksandra and Kristina, studentss of the school.

The schoolchildren together with young pupils of kindergarten No. 67 are also preparing a video tour of the city of Perm and the Motovilikhinsky district. They plan to show the video during the Perm-Minsk teleconference in early April.

"The children chose the locations for filming on their own - these are the sights of Perm and Motovilikhinsky District. The children will also tell about interesting facts that they learnt while preparing the video, for example, that there is Minskaya Street in Perm and Permskaya Street in Sovetsky District of Minsk," shared Elena Krening, Director of School No. 127.

The festival at School No. 127 is only one event in a series of creative competitions, exhibitions and tournaments that take place in Perm's educational institutions within the framework of the signed Memorandum on establishing friendship relations between the administration of Motovilikhinsky District of Perm and the administration of Sovetsky District of Minsk.

"In honour of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus, the Perm-Minsk teleconference will take place on 2 April. Representatives of Perm City Administration and heads of municipal institutions will exchange experience in education, sports and culture," said Ilya Pishchalnikov, Acting Head of Coordination, Planning and Industry Development of Perm City Department of Education.

We would like to remind you that the initiative to develop cooperation between Minsk and Perm emerged in July 2022 after the visit of the Governor of Perm Krai Dmitry Makhonin to Minsk and his working meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexksndr Lukashenko. All this time, relations and contacts between Perm and Minsk enterprises and organizations have been actively developing, and cooperation between colleagues in social and other spheres has been established.
